Transition to Work

What is it?

Transition to Work is a program that specifically helps eligible people and assists them to update their skills and training to enter the workforce after a  minimum absence of 2 years.

If you are a:

  1. Parent
  2. Carer
  3. Aged over 50,

you may be eligible for assistance that could improve your prospects of getting a paid job

Transition to Work is a Commonwealth Government Initiative

Who may be Eligible?

Transition to Work has been developed for parents, carers and mature people aged over 50 years who are starting work for the first time or returning to work after a minimum two year absence.

Whether you are receiving income support or not, you may be eligible.

If you meet all three of the following points you may be eligible for this Commonwealth Government Initiative:

  1. be looking for paid work
  2. have been out of the workforce for over two years
  3. be a parent, someone who has been caring for others, or a mature-age person aged over 50 years.

Wesley Uniting Employment, which is an Activity of Wesley Mission, has been assisting people for many years.
